Hey

Today we got told to make some metaphor’s and share them on my blog.  Hope you like it

My pillow was as soft as fairy floss.

Stop clowning around.

Don’t be a dog.

Don’t be a chicken.

He had a heart of a bull.

Smoke was coming out of his ears.

His teeth were as white as a dove.

The Melbourne Zoo

On the 6th we went to the Zoo!

It was amazing. We learnt how to protect our earth and animals. My favorite part of the excursion was seeing the monkeys and watching Jake the seal swim around and show us how to protect our sea by recycling old fishing lines instead of chucking them in our sea.

The monkeys and apes are legendary because they jumped ran and  played around, my favorite type of apes are orang-utans!

Because it was a learning experience we learnt about animals and habitat.

The zoo is 150 years old and back then they wanted the money instead of looking after the animals. They used to put animals in a white small building that looked a lot like a prison cell. The animals had no where to hide, no grass, no trees other animals, no nothing.

Palm oil is terrible but what actually is it?

Could you imaging if someone came along and cut down your house with a giant chainsaw? Well, it’s the life for some orang-utangs. If you see a food always check if it contains palm oil or vegetable oil.  If it does write a letter to the brand and ask for sustainable palm oil.

How can you help?

Well you can go sign a petition or start a campaign, raise awareness or raise money.

Please leave a comment and help out our animals and environment.

Enviroment

Breaking news!

Sadly our world being destroyed!  Without our stunning natural world, what would be the point of earth. Could you imagine going outside with no trees wich means no bids which means no beautiful sound and no fresh air!  If children have rights adults have rights animals have right so should earth! We need to take part in our earth if we don’t our race other races and of coarse nature will die out. Instead of driving to the milk bar walk ride or just not go is it worth polluting the world. It’s up to you to do something I stand for for the earths.

Here are some friends impact on how we can take part.

Matt:
Are we going to be able to stop all the mass producing factories before we corrupt our magnificant planet?
Our world is so beatutiful and we need to care for it, but if some of us are hungry for MONEY so they will stop at nothing even if it means that our world will slowly die in the course of a few genorations.
I think that there shoud be a limit of waste the a company can produce each day and that we shoud pay an extra 10 cents for biodegradable bag or bring/make your own then the 10 cents spent on biodegradable bags should be put to charity or to anti co2 making facility.
If you think about it we use paper, couches, houses and many more uses but were do all these things come from?……. THE TREES so if we want to save the trees and possibly the survival of the human race we need to stop cutting down trees and stop the amount of polution spread in to the earths atmophere so take a STAND and fight to stop all of this polution and make this world a better place!!!!!!!
Chloe:
Without our stunning natural world, what would be the beauty in our earth?
Logging, littering and polluting are huge problems, but we can all do something to improve the health of our environment.
Ever considered using the flexible plastic recycling bin at school? Using biodegradable doggy bags? Walking to school?
These are all simple things that can help both ourselves and our world stay healthy.
Don’t you feel terrible when you see those photos of turtles choking on plastic bags?  Or even the massive clouds of pollution around big cities?
What can you do to help our environment stay as amazing as it is today for future generations?
Corrine:

Caring for the environment
I believe that we should care for the enviro- No! I don’t believe, I know, we MUST care for the environment!!!!
Our earth is getting full of more and more carbon dioxide (CO2) and that is actually our teachers and parents fault! because they all have cars. Cars are big issue because, to make the fuel that we need for them fossil fuels have to be burnt. Fossil fuels are the decayed plants and animal under the ground which turns into coal. Once that is burnt it is done. Loads of toxic fumes into our atmosphere.
I hope in the future all our cars will be cleanly run. Thank you

Oscars Law

Puppy farms are a big part of dog abuse. Dogs can be kept in horribly dirty and cramped conditions to heave puppies so their ‘owner’ can earn money. The cute pup in the pet shop window could come from a traumatic background. It’s mother could still be in pain.

Oscar’s law is a campaign that enables everyone to make a stand and tell the Government that “We do not want companion animals factory farmed anymore” and “We no longer want the pet industry to mislead us about what is acceptable for our animals”.

You can help fight the killing of healthy, rehomeable pets in Australia’s pounds, promote rescue organisations and shelters as the first option to adopting, and change the way Australians gets their pets. Adoption is the intelligent alternative to impulse buying. No puppy factory whether it is ‘clean’, ‘model’, ‘state of the art’ or otherwise is the answer for mans best friend.

Who is Oscar?

Now you may be wondering who Oscar is! Oscar was one of a number of dogs who were rescued from a puppy factory in central Victoria where they had been neglected to the point they required urgent veterinary care. The list of ailments the dogs suffered was extensive, including:

Severe matting — the dogs had to be sedated in order to shave their painful matted fur away from their skin; ear infections; Gum Disease; and rotten teeth

To help dogs treated unjustly, check out and donate to the Oscar’s Law website at

http://www.oscarslaw.org/

Look at the whole site, especially the ‘About’ and ’Take Action’ pages.

Please sign the online petition or send emails to members of parliament

Help a human’s best friend. Be their voice. Improve their lives.

How Do Positive and Negative Sayings Affect People…

How Do Positive and Negative Sayings Affect People…

For Chloe and I’s Personal Learning Task in Positive Education, we researched about how positive and negative sayings affect people. We made a powerpoint and did surveys of our classmate’s reactions.
As I researched I discovered some very motivating quotes and encouraging sayings. I thought this project was really good and I had lots of fun doing it. Some interesting sayings we found were ‘Never stop to rest until your best is better and your better is best’ and ‘winning fairly is the only way to win’.

I really enjoyed this task and learnt loads as I researched the topic.
