On the 6th we went to the Zoo!
It was amazing. We learnt how to protect our earth and animals. My favorite part of the excursion was seeing the monkeys and watching Jake the seal swim around and show us how to protect our sea by recycling old fishing lines instead of chucking them in our sea.
The monkeys and apes are legendary because they jumped ran and played around, my favorite type of apes are orang-utans!
Because it was a learning experience we learnt about animals and habitat.
The zoo is 150 years old and back then they wanted the money instead of looking after the animals. They used to put animals in a white small building that looked a lot like a prison cell. The animals had no where to hide, no grass, no trees other animals, no nothing.
Palm oil is terrible but what actually is it?
Could you imaging if someone came along and cut down your house with a giant chainsaw? Well, it’s the life for some orang-utangs. If you see a food always check if it contains palm oil or vegetable oil. If it does write a letter to the brand and ask for sustainable palm oil.
How can you help?
Well you can go sign a petition or start a campaign, raise awareness or raise money.
Please leave a comment and help out our animals and environment.

What a fabulous Post Braden.
You have shared your learning and helped to raise awareness about the survival of many species of animals. We can all certainly do our part by not buying any products that contain palm oil. Thank you for sharing your reflection of our wonderful day at the zoo.
